Jane C. Michael is a retired mathematics teacher from Morgantown WV who has drawn and/or painted since childhood. Her father, Harry Callander, was an oil painter educated at the Chicago Art Institute, so art classes in high school and college were logical pursuits.
Marriage, children and graduate school delayed any serious return to art, but after retirement, Jane studied watercolors with Peggy Isaack from 2009 until 2014. Since Peggy’s death, Jane studies independently and attends 5 to 6 state and national workshops each year. She joyfully sketches or paints daily to improve her skills.
